Our financial advice is delivered through the creation of personalised financial plans that can include thoughts about how to maintain or achieve direction and balance in life and not solely focus on money. Money however makes many of the things we want a reality and commonly we need to save money today in order to spend it tomorrow.
When advising our clients to save or invest money we will use our understanding of their financial position to recommend the most tax efficient products, for example this could be through an Individual Savings Account (ISA), Personal Pension, Self Invested Personal Pension (SIPP), Offshore Investment Bond or Onshore Investment Bond. For lump sum investment the most common approach we employ is described in our Tax Efficient Portfolio Management guide. In addition to holding investments tax efficiently, a key contributor to the success of a financial plan is how the underlying investments perform. Financial planning is not an end in itself, the financial plan is usually just a means to an end; meeting a future objective, funding an important life-event, marking achievements, passing wealth to someone else or simply opening up avenues that wouldn’t otherwise be an option. For our client’s financial plans to remain relevant over the long term, we revisit and review them on an ongoing basis; making adjustments in accordance with changes in personal circumstances and taking advantage of tax planning opportunities. Outside of scheduled review meetings we encourage our clients to contact us to discuss their thoughts and receive updates on their financial arrangements.
We have often been told by our clients that our approach is different from other financial advisers, because of this we may not be the right choice for everyone we meet. For this reason we like to have a no obligation initial meeting to get to know each other. At this meeting we will commonly offer an appraisal of how we would apply our expertise and wealth management approach to your financial needs and objectives. If we both agree to you becoming a client of Black Swan Financial Management, a second meeting will be arranged to complete a financial questionnaire and agree the structure of your financial plan.
